This interview that Tony Robbins did with holocaust surviver, Alice Herz-Sommer was a real eye opener for me this morning. At 108 years old, she lives by herself in a tiny London flat with no assistance and still practices the piano three hours a day.
In the interview Alice says she learned the following two important lessons from her mother:
- Never complain. It doesn’t change anything. It only makes you miserable.
- Be thankful. Treat everything in life—whether good or bad—as a gift.
For me personally I know that I complain way to much and while I am thankful for everything the Lord has given me I definitely do not express it enough. I need to be more intentional about what I say, how I present my thoughts and in all honesty just work on my attitude.
